Small Running Title
Master's Theater Designer & Artist
A selection of shows form all of my career, in which I was featured as a painter, and that have: unique features, effects, and styles!

Pillowman
The set featured a lot of painted stone. The texture was achieved by putting shellac in specific areas and drying it very quickly, creating a distressed/aged effect.

The Pillowman Upstage wall
The back stage of the set, it featured "paintings" created with charcoal, to add a creepy - storytelling effect.

Or
The set featured LOTS of wood graining. The overall floor was faux painted Masonite (not planks). The wall featured many different kinds of wood grain such as detailed trim, burl wood, and different tones.

God Of Carnage
The set featrued a planked wood floor, with a faux marble interior floor. The colums were homoste bricks with texture over top, and scumbled.

Fiddler on the Roof
The portals which were the piece i mainly helped with featured heavy duty burlaped painted in its entirety. The portals also featured many faux painted lauan panels.

Narnia
The set, based on natural elements found in the area, the local tree lines and short stone walls [Local to Central NH]. The painting featured textured trees, and a spider brick pattern with differing rock tones and styles.

The man who shot liberty valance
This set featured many pieces of planking, many wooden objets.

The crucible
The floor required many stencils, laid out to create the silver detailing around the floor. Jet black with a high gloss finish.

The Drowsy chaperone
The se featured many pink, black, and gold trimmings. Each intricate and difficult to paint. The apartment featured lots of Perspective trims, and apartment elements. Missing semi realism - with fantastical elements.

Death Trap
The set featured many different wooden columns, and a faux carved stone fireplace. The floor was a lauan wood planked arrangement.

Rocky Horror Picture Show
The set featured a large upstage brick wall (20' x 16'). The set also featurd a unique breakaways box wall. The primary paint job was stainign the almost enirely 2x4 set.

Paint Pour Final Test
A "Paint Pour" for the set of silent sky. This was created with Flo-trol, a chemical additive that allows paints to flow together, but not mix. This created an image much like a galaxy, and space-scape.

Silent sky process
Part of the paint process for silent sky. The process to create the earlier image was done with a series of marbe washes. This created fantastic likeness to the space style floor.

Silent Sky Process
Another process shot!

Poseter Project
A final for undergraduate painitng class. To re create a poster on a 4'x8' flat. The image was project, colores hand mixed, and completley re created.

She Kills Monsters - Multiple Textures
Featuring a TON of locations, we decided to make a game board of all of them! As paint charge i oversaw the creation of all 7 textures!
Painted turf, Location specific bricks [Athens Ohio], River rock on cloth over foam, painted carpeting, aged slate stones, and a semi translucent up stage brick wall.

Backdrop
Painted with a multitude of things, none of which were a paint brush. We used, clothes, pieces of cloth, oyur hands, our bodies, and whatever else we though would make a great "stamp", and then created this piece!

Objects in the Mirror - Painted Drop
FEaturing clouds and Ocean, we created the clouds with a layered stencil effect, and kitty litter! They came out great, and it was a fast technique!

Rhinoceros
A 3 color show, it featured many "tricks" of the stage. Hidden LED's, stretchy fabric walls, and a suspended ceiling with LED's as well. The paints had to be perfectly a single color, an easy ask, but difficult to maintain!
